It’s always bittersweet when our wedding season comes to an end.  Our weekends suddenly open up, winter sets in and we wrap up a year of fun and celebrations of love with our brides and grooms.  This year we were blessed with an extra special wedding celebration to photograph to close out our wedding season!  Not only were we the wedding photographers for an absolutely amazing couple, Kathleen and Dominic, we got to photograph at wedding at the venue where Peter and I got married in May of 2012!
From the first time I talk to Kathleen on the phone, I knew that she was someone I was going to adore working with.  It is so important to have the right attitude when planning your wedding and Kathleen was a master at it.  While living in Florida with her fiancee Dominic, Kathleen was able to plan her whole wedding in MA with the help of her family and friends!  Not only was the wedding a huge success, but she and her family were so happy, calm, and truly present all day….really enjoying the magic of the wedding celebration and avoiding the trap of getting caught up in the little things.
During the weeks leading up to the wedding we watched winter settle in and the days get shorter.  With our gloves, hand warmers, and winter coats we prepped for what was an absolutely beautiful day…even though it was only 34 degrees outside.  Lucky for us, you cannot see how cold everyone actually is in photos, and spirits were so high that everyone was glowing!
We arrived at Kathleen’s aunt’s house in Reading, MA to capture photographs of the Kathleen and her bridesmaids getting ready.  We were welcomed by her family who were full of helping hands, happy thoughts, and warm hugs…we immediately felt like family!  I was so excited to see all the details that Kathleen had planned and I was so thrilled that Kathleen’s mother had saved a copy of their beautiful wedding invitations for me to photograph.
Kathleen made an absolutely stunning bride.  A true classic beauty, and her wedding dress was the perfect representation of simple elegance.  Every detail was swoon-worthy!
Once Kathleen was all dressed, it was time for a favorite moment of mine on a wedding day, and that is the “first look” with the bride’s father.  This moment between Kathleen and her dad is too precious for words…good thing we have photos!
Now, the reality of the day’s festivities started to set in and we took some portraits to capture the happy moments.
I was totally obsessing over the bridesmaid dresses with those flowers…total fall wedding perfection!
It was time for the girls to head to the church, and Kathleen waited for the limo to return for her and her father….it was almost time!!
While the girls were getting ready, Dominic and his groomsmen were tying up some last minute details (pun intended 😉 and snapped some photos in anticipation of the big moments of anticipation!
When Kathleen and her father arrived at the church it was easy to see how truly happy she was….Dominic was waiting just inside the St. Agnes Church to marry the love of his life.
The ceremony music began, and Kathleen looked beautiful walking down the aisle…we even saw a quiver in Dominic’s lip as she approached him…true love!
Their families watched as Kathleen and Dominic became husband and wife before God and his church.  Emotions were high and after Dominic kissed the bride, they rushed out the door to their limo and headed to the Renaissance Golf Club for portraits and to start the evening celebration!
As golden hour began, we arrived at the Renaissance in time for some beautiful photos to capture the excitement of the moment!
Despite the wind and freezing cold temperature, this wedding party looked pretty amazing with the late sun and fall foliage. Everyone’s happiness for Dominic and Kathleen was evident and their bright smiles, which warmed their spirits…even if it didn’t warm their noses!
Before the reception began, we hopped onto the beautiful golf course to bring Kathleen and Dominic off into the sunset for some private moments as husband and wife.

Wow…how beautiful are these two?!  After this wedding photographer’s dream of a photo session, we headed into the reception for and some serious fun on the dance floor.
Here’s to an amazing wedding celebration of two great people who found one another in this crazy world!  Kathleen and Dominic, congratulations and cheers to a future of love and happiness as best friends, partners, and lovers.  You and your families were such a joy to work with and we truly felt like part of the family during such a special day in your lives!
